CREA - Council for agricultural research and economics

CREA is the leading Italian research organization dedicated to the agri-food supply chains. Operating as a legal entity under public law, CREA is supervised by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies (Mipaaf). Its scientific activities encompass agricultural crops, livestock, fishery, forestry, agro-industry, food science, and socio-economics. CREA enjoys full scientific, statutory, organizational, administrative, and financial autonomy.

Established in 2015 through the merger of the Council for Agricultural Research (CRA) and the National Institute of Agricultural Economics (INEA), both of which had been active since the mid-20th century, CREA has a comprehensive network of 12 research centers. These include six centers focused on specific supply chains and six dedicated to horizontal topics, forming a widespread network across the country. CREA employs over 2,000 people, including 1,520 researchers and technologists.

The Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad is a higher education and scientific research institution dedicated to promoting high-quality educational processes, advancing scientific disciplines, and disseminating knowledge within the economy and society. Since its inception in 1954, the Faculty has been committed to achieving these objectives through successful scientific research and its practical applications.

Over the years, the Faculty has developed study programs that educate students for current and future technical-technological and socio-economic systems, based on the recognized demands of the economic environment and societal needs. It has simultaneously built a qualified team and robust technical resources.

The Faculty of Agriculture fulfills its mission through three interconnected areas: higher education, scientific research, and the application of knowledge in the economic field. It continuously enhances its educational programs, working procedures, and resources to achieve the highest standards. Consequently, the Faculty meets the educational needs of future generations, the economic needs of scientists and experts, and the material needs of its employees.
